Waterfalls are one of my favourite subjects to photograph. We will get close and personal to locations in the Tal y Llyn valley. Starting at Dolgoch Falls where there is an opportunity to photograph the main falls, as well as the smaller more intimate falls that can give some great images. We then move onto the area surrounding Tal y Llyn lake and Minffordd.
Tuition level will be aimed at the photographer who wishes to explore the finer aspects of composition and understanding their camera and its settings. There will be tuition on filtration, in particular, the need for a polarising filter and the use of graduated filters. Cameras needed will be DSLRs, lenses required should range from 16mm to 200mm.
The day typically begins at 10 am with an optional review of your images from your portfolio at my studio via USB memory stick or the web. This will then enable me to tailor the day's shoot to ensure it will be most beneficial to your photography. We then move on to the various types of locations photographing different aspects of the countryside which then runs through until around 4.30 pm, depending on the light, conditions and the time allocated to your workshop. A critique during the workshop will give the opportunity for some immediate feedback on the technical and creative elements of your images. Please feel free to ask questions at any time, I would be happy to answer any queries regarding photography that you might have during the workshop.
I primarily use Nikon DSLR’s, but please bring whatever DLSR you have. I’m more than happy working with both complete beginners as well as enthusiat landscape photographers. The day is tailored to your requirements.
