Groyne 2

During stormy weather I can’t help but be drawn to photographing the beach groynes along Tywyn beach. There is something about the symmetry of a long exposure image, especially when you can play with the shutter settings to either completely smooth the water out or, as in this case, just allow a small amount of detail and create a candy floss effect with the breaking waves. A high-key capture would normally be the type of look I would go for, but in this image, I felt that a low-keyish darker effect was more appropriate. What do you think?
